Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking an Environmental Site Lead in Houston, TX, to provide onsite leadership for environmental work packages supporting NASA compliance at Johnson Space Center and nearby facilities. The role requires coordinating inspections, waste management, spill response, and related deliverables while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent two-year program in environmental science or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of federal government environmental work in Texas as a team lead for work packages and personnel.
• Working knowledge of federal and Texas environmental statutes, including RCRA requirements for waste management.
• Ability to lead personnel, coordinate multiple environmental work activities, communicate with Government stakeholders and produce timely documentation.
• Onsite work Monday through Friday with after-hours support when needed.
• Valid Texas Real ID driver’s license and site access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned environmental work packages and onsite personnel at Johnson Space Center and related facilities.
• Coordinate daily work to maintain staffing and uninterrupted environmental support during operations and emergencies.
• Ensure inspections, sampling, waste activities, spill response, and deliverables meet safety and schedule requirements.
• Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and NASA requirements.
• Brief government stakeholders and project managers on results, risks, and corrective actions.
• Support audits, investigations, and closure of findings with documentation in NASA records.
• Maintain training, qualifications, certifications, and PPE for duties.
• Occasionally travel as required by program needs.
