Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking an Environmental Site Lead to support NASA Environmental Services at Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX. The role provides on-site leadership for environmental work packages, ensuring compliance with federal, Texas, and local environmental requirements and coordinating with NASA subject matter experts and project managers.

Responsibilities include overseeing field work, inspections, waste management, spill response, and records management, with emphasis

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of an equivalent two-year undergraduate academic program in environmental science or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience directly applicable to federal government environmental work in Texas as a team lead for work packages and personnel.
• Valid Texas Real ID driver’s license and ability to meet site access, safety, health, and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned environmental work packages and onsite personnel supporting NASA operations at Johnson Space Center and associated facilities.
• Coordinate daily work to maintain staffing and uninterrupted environmental support during normal operations and emergencies.
• Ensure inspections, sampling, regulated waste activities, spill response, and related deliverables are completed safely and on schedule.
• Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations including RCRA and NASA requirements.
• Coordinate with NASA SMEs and project managers before regulatory communications or responses to inspectors.
• Brief inspection results, risks, constraints, findings, and corrective actions to government stakeholders and project managers.
