Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Environmental Scientist for southeastern Wisconsin to support consulting projects in Milwaukee/Franklin, WI. The role focuses on Phase I and Phase II ESAs, investigations, and remediation for commercial, industrial, municipal, and redevelopment clients.

You will perform soil, groundwater, vapor sampling, prepare technical reports, and coordinate field teams while ensuring regulatory compliance with WDNR and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or related field.
• 3+ years of environmental consulting experience.
• Hands-on experience conducting both Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Experience with soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
• Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin environmental regulations and due diligence standards.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM E1527 standards).
• Perform records reviews, historical research, site reconnaissance, and interviews.
• Identify RECs and prepare Phase I reports.
• Develop scopes of work and recommendations for Phase II investigations.
• Conduct soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and sediment sampling.
• Coordinate and oversee drilling subcontractors and environmental field personnel.
• Review and interpret analytical data to evaluate environmental conditions.
• Support remediation and Brownfield redevelopment projects and WDNR permitting.
• Prepare regulatory reports, work plans, and technical memorandums.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and budgets.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and project teams.
• Participate in client meetings and project planning efforts.
