Job summary

VHB is seeking an Environmental Project Manager in New Jersey to lead Site Investigation & Remediation efforts for complex projects. You will coordinate Phase I ESAs, PAs, and related deliverables while mentoring junior staff and managing client relationships across Manasquan, Newark, or Princeton.

Ideal candidates have 5–8+ years in environmental consulting, NJDEP familiarity, and HAZWOPER certification. A PE/PG/LEP or LSRP path is preferred, with a strong growth mindset and excellent

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology required.
• 5-8+ years of professional environmental consulting and site remediation experience.
• Experience preparing Phase I ESAs and Preliminary Assessments (PAs).
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and 8-hour refresher certification required.
• PE, PG or LEP licensure preferred; LSRP pathway preferred.
• Knowledge of NJDEP regulations and EPA Region 2 relationships preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop cost-effective, compliant solutions for contaminated sites.
• Manage diverse SI&R projects while maintaining and growing client relationships.
• Coordinate the preparation/review of Phase I ESAs, PAs, desktop due diligence memos, site investigation reports, and related action plans.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, including coaching of field procedures and budgets.
• Represent VHB through professional organizations, conferences, and community engagement.
• Stay current with regulations, emerging contaminants, technologies, and industry trends.
