Job summary

Kettering Health Hamilton is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II for the Second Shift (PRN) to help maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming hospital environment. You will perform cleaning, floor care, and waste management across the facility to support patient care and safety.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience), experience in healthcare housekeeping, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and knowledge of infection control and cleaning

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and communicating effectively in English.
• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfection procedures.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills for supply tracking or training modules.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Understanding of infection control and safety protocols.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Environmental Services Worker II plays a vital role in supporting patient care and safety by ensuring a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the healthcare facility. This position is responsible for performing cleaning, floor care, and waste management tasks in accordance with infection control and safety standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• will consider candidates with relevant experience in lieu of diploma.

Required Work Experience

• Experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or custodial work in a healthcare or similar setting preferred
• typically 1-3 months or more.

Required Licenses, Certifications, And Registrations

• Annual DOT certification

• Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) or similar certification preferred.
