Job summary

Kettering Health Dayton is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II (PRN) to support patient care and safety by ensuring a clean, sanitary environment across the facility. You will perform cleaning, floor care, and waste management in alignment with infection control and safety standards.

The role requires reading and communicating effectively in English, knowledge of cleaning procedures, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience can replace diploma.
• 1–3 months or more experience in environmental services or healthcare setting preferred.
• DOT certification (annual) required.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Environmental Services Worker II plays a vital role in supporting patient care and safety by ensuring a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the healthcare facility. This position is responsible for performing cleaning, floor care, and waste management tasks in accordance with infection control and safety standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• will consider candidates with relevant experience in lieu of diploma.

Required Work Experience:

• Experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or custodial work in a healthcare or similar setting preferred
• typically 1-3 months or more.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

• Annual DOT certification

Skills:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
