Job summary

Mercer University seeks a reliable Environmental Services Technician to support the NAMI Central GA program. You will perform routine cleaning in offices, restrooms, kitchens, and resident spaces, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met across campus facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• TB screening, First Aid/CPR.
• Live within commuting distance of Mercer facilities.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong time management and reliability.
• Experience in environmental services or custodial preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and PPE.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to work evenings or weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks in common areas, offices, restrooms, and resident rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, laundry rooms, storage areas, and other spaces.
• Empty trash and dispose waste per health and safety policies.
• Restock cleaning and hygiene supplies and report low inventory.
• Clean high-touch areas regularly to reduce illness risk.
• Perform deep cleaning on a rotating schedule.
• Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
• Report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE and chemical handling.
• Support special projects or seasonal cleaning as assigned.
