The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Housekeeping Aid - Environmental Services Technician for a VA Medical Center in Memphis.

This position performs a full range of housekeeping and custodial duties in patient and non-patient care areas, including sanitation, linen handling, waste management, cleaning of windows and fixtures, and stock replenishment. Work schedules include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, with assignments based on service needs.

Qualifications

• EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required - but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position.
• Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge - skills - and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume.
• Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week.

Responsibilities

• The Housekeeping Aid - Environmental Services Technician executes a full range of housekeeping activities in patient and non-patient care areas.
• The duties include the use of powered cleaning equipment and various cleaning tasks to maintain rooms, areas, furniture, and fixtures.
• Handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with label directions to ensure safety and property protection.
• Make beds, change linens, collect soiled linens, dispose and store general waste and regulated waste.
• Check and replenish consumables (soap, towels, tissue, gloves) during cleaning and servicing rooms.
