Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Salt Lake City VA Medical Center Environmental Management Service seeks an Environmental Service Technician to perform janitorial and custodial duties across patient areas.

Responsibilities include sanitizing, waste removal, blinds, curtains, windows, walls, and floor care. Work involves continuous walking and standing, use of cleaning equipment, and adherence to safety standards on all shifts (1st/2nd/3rd).

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, sanitizing and basic facility upkeep.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform routine housekeeping tasks.
• Willingness to work varied shifts and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform light and heavy cleaning duties in patient areas and facilities.
• Address spills, discard trash, vacuum, mop, and polish floors.
• Clean wards, patient rooms, offices, corridors, restrooms and showers.
• Dust, wash windows, blinds, walls, and ceilings as needed.
• Move furniture and assist with routine maintenance under supervision.
• Work with minimal supervision across all shifts.
