Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a hospital housekeeping professional to join our Environmental Services team in Lebanon, NH. The role involves maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming patient areas across APD campus facilities, with float shifts to cover scheduling needs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (GED) and hospital housekeeping experience. You will follow written and oral instructions, work under pressure, and collaborate with the ES team to ensure high standards of cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED certification - preferred.
• Prior experience as a housekeeper in a hospital setting preferred.
• Some background in institutional cleaning required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to work under pressure. Ability to use initiative and judgment. Requires completion of task under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all APD campus buildings are kept clean, safe and welcoming for patients and employees.
• Float positions will require an employee to fill in whenever scheduling conflicts arise.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Dry mops and wet mops non-carpeted floors.
• Vacuums carpeted floor.
• Strips and wax floors as assigned.
• Clean furnishings, floors and equipment with proper cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
• Dust window sills, blinds, furniture ect.
• Empties trash and desposes recycling.
• Clean sinks, tubs, showers, mirrors, and similar equipment.
• Replenish soap, paper towels, and other disposable items as needed.
• Wash walls, ceilings and windows.
• Stock clean linen in laundry room and other areas as needed.
• Transport soiled linens to laundry room and weigh.
• Transport trash from dirty utility room to dumpster.
• Wash beds with disinfectant cleaner, remake beds with clean linen.
• Notify (ES) Manager when cleaning supplies are low.
• Notify (ES) Manager of mechanical failures or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality of costumers at all times.
• Other duties as assigned by Environmental Services Heads.
• Cross train in OR and all outer Clinics on campus in order to cover as needed.
• Assist Laundry Technician as assigned.
• Cleans patient discharge rooms as assigned.

PART TWO:FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Position Objective

Float positions will require an employee fill in whenever scheduling conflicts arise. Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Expectation

• Dry mops and wet mops non-carpeted floors.
