Job description

Job Summary: Performs a variety of healthcare environmental services (EVS) duties to maintain a clean and safe healthcare environment. Ensures professional service standards and optimizes customer interactions to provide the best patient, family, and customer experience.

Job Duties

1. Cleans and disinfects patient and non-patient areas, departments, and spaces.
2. Handles various waste streams, including municipal and recyclable waste.
3. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
4. Follows procedures for the proper use of hospital-approved cleaning and disinfection products.
5. Places signage to indicate cleaning in progress and wet floors to prevent falls.
6. Reports facility repairs as observed or directed, following established policies.
7. Uses mobile technology to comply with bed management and environmental services functions.
8. Performs detailed cleaning such as high dusting, walls, ceilings, vents, and lights.
9. Collects soiled linen and transports it to the designated staging area for vendor pickup.
10. All EVS staff entering medication rooms must complete mandatory education on medication room protocols.

Work is performed in a clinical environment. Staff must comply with organizational policies and procedures. Additional department-specific skills will be outlined during orientation.

Position Details

• Bonus up to $2,500 for new hires!
• Hours: 10:30 pm to 7:00 am, including weekends and holidays.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED (preferred). Minimum of 1 year related work experience (required). Certification: CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) from the Association for the Healthcare Environment.
