Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Cleans and disinfects patient and non-patient facing areas, departments, and spaces.
2. Handles various waste streams, including municipal waste and recyclables.
3. Wears standard personal protective equipment as required.
4. Follows procedures for the proper use of hospital-approved cleaning and disinfection products.
5. Places appropriate signage to indicate ongoing cleaning and wet floors to prevent falls.
6. Reports facility repairs as directed or observed, following established policies and procedures.
7. Uses mobile technology to ensure compliance with bed management procedures and other environmental services functions performed daily.
8. Performs detailed cleaning, including high dusting, walls, ceilings, tracks, vents, and lights.
9. Collects soiled linen and transports it to the hospital staging area for vendor pickup, as applicable.
10. All EVS staff entering medication rooms must receive mandatory education on proper medication room protocols.
