Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, MN is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe hospital-like environment. You will perform housekeeping tasks across patient/resident rooms and common areas, using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment to meet health standards.

The role requires basic computer use, strong communication skills, and prior experience in cleaning within healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors; use brooms, mops, or powered machines.
• Wear appropriate protective equipment and keep storage and carts clean and tidy.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate; use technology applications as available.
• Lift up to 40-50 lbs; stand for most of shift; work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
