Job summary

Olivia Hospital & Clinic in Olivia, MN is hiring an Environmental Services Technician to maintain safe, sanitary environments in hospital and clinic settings. This casual, on-call role supports patient care by cleaning and disinfection following required procedures and safety standards.

The position requires a High School Diploma (preferred), ability to follow work orders, schedule variability including weekends, and strong time management. FTE 0.8, 32 hours per week, 6:30–16:30 shift.

Responsibilities

• Carry linens, towels, toiletries and supplies using wheeled carts (as needed).
• Keep storage areas and carts stocked, clean and organized.
• Sort, count linens and store them in linen closets.
• Clean rooms, hallways, waiting areas, restrooms and other areas to meet health standards.
• Dispose of trash or waste in proper areas.
• Sweep, scrub and vacuum floors.
• Wash windows and walls as needed.
• Hang draperies and dust blinds when required.
• Disinfect equipment, furniture, and supplies per standards.
• Move furniture and turn mattresses to aid cleaning.
• Attend facility and department meetings as scheduled.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Work Schedule

FTE 0.8, 32 horus per week, 0630 - 1630.

Position Summary

Environmental Services Technicians provide safe and sanitary surroundings for patients, employees, and the public in both hospital and clinic settings. Environmental Services Technicians must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, and moving of objects/materials. Environmental Services Technicians must also participate in the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, and/or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-Borne Pathogen Standard or Olivia Hospital & Clinic Exposure Control Plan for Blood-Borne Pathogens. This is a casual, on-call position, with no set hours per pay period.

Responsibilities

• Carry linens, towels, toiletry items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Sort, count linens, and store them in linen closets.
• Clean rooms, hallways, waiting areas, restrooms, corridors, locker rooms, high touch areas and other assigned work areas so that applicable health standards are met.
• Dispose of trash or waste materials to appropriate disposal areas.
• Sweep, scrub, and vacuum floors using brooms, mops, and vacuums.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as necessary.
• Hang draperies and dust/wash window blinds as needed.
• Disinfect equipment, furniture, and supplies according to OHC standards.
• Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses to effectively clean.
• Attend facility and department meetings as scheduled.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
