Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVSTech) for per diem night shifts at St. JosephMedical Center-Kansas City, KS.

The EVSTech cleans and disinfects patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent infections, handles waste disposal, restocks supplies, and maintains floors and surfaces. The role requires 1 year of acute care ES experience preferred, a high school diploma, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• 1 year of acute care environmental service experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent infections
• Properly dispose of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols
• Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and other surfaces
• Respond to urgent cleaning needs and communicate via phone or radios
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and travel between facilities as needed

We are seeking anEnvironmental Services Technician, also referred to asa EVSTech or Environmental Aide.The EVSTechensures a safe and healthy environment by cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, operating rooms, andcommon areasto prevent infection.The EVSTech willhandle waste disposal, restock supplies,maintainfloors and surfaces, and respond to urgent cleaning needs.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRN as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, andcommon areasto prevent the spread of infections

• Properly disposing of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols

• Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas

• Clean andmaintainfloors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals

• Respond to urgent cleaning needs such as spills or contamination incidents and communicate promptly using phone, handheld radios, pagers, and other devices

• Maintaina high levelof cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling between facilities independently

Qualifications

1. One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures preferred. 2. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. 3. Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.
