Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician I at Good Samaritan Hospital to perform general and specialized cleaning of patient rooms, offices, and hallways. Shift is 7:00am to 3:30pm, full-time (80 hours biweekly).

Starting rate is $18.00/hour with pay for experience. Duties include moving furnishings, operating floor care equipment, and supporting the environmental services team as needed. Good attendance and teamwork are expected.

• Ability to read, write, understand and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of the Environmental Services Technician I.
• Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.
• Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
• Moves, removes, and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. as directed.
• Shampoos rugs and furniture. Cleans vents, fans, and other equipment using vacuum machines.
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuums.
• Sets up chairs and tables, etc. for special events and folds and stores them after the event.
• Moves large items in and out of storage.
• Performs custodial/housekeeping duties as assigned when not involved in moving projects.
• Assists in handing drapes and dividers and takes them down for cleaning.
