Job summary

Windom Area Health seeks an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and sanitary hospital environment. You will perform cleaning, upkeep, and linen distribution across clinical and non-clinical areas, ensuring compliance with health codes.

The role supports patient safety and comfort on rotating day/evening shifts, including weekends and holidays. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and prior housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of clinical and non-clinical areas to promote a safe environment.
• Handle garbage and waste to promote a clean and safe facility.
• Collect and distribute linen for hospital departments to ensure clean materials for patients and staff.
• Monitor supplies levels and report to supervisor when low.
• Monitor equipment and report repairs as indicated.
• Participate in hospital committees when appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

Includes

• Maintaining the cleanliness, appearance and sanitation of all clinical areas of facility to promote a clean and safe environment.
• Maintaining the cleanliness, appearance and sanitation of all non-clinical areas in facility to promote a clean and safe environment.
• Handles garbage and waste to promote a clean and safe facility.
• Collects and distributes linen for all hospital departments to ensure clean materials for patient, customer and employee use.

Other Responsibilities And Expectations

• Monitors levels of supplies and reports to department supervisor when levels are low
• Monitors equipment for proper function and reports to department supervisor when repairs are indicated.
• Participates in hospital committees when appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills (for email and online education purposes)
• Knowledge of and ability to follow all applicable safety and infection control standards.
• Physical stamina to complete required housekeeping duties
• Possess efficient time management and has ability to prioritize tasks

Employment Variables

Full time position and will work rotating day and evening shifts, weekends and holidays. This may vary depending number of employees in the department.
