Job summary

Corewell Health’s Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids is seeking a part-time evening shift environmental services worker to clean and disinfect patient rooms and offices, remove waste, and maintain floors and upholstery.

You will collaborate with teammates to ensure clean, safe environments and may work across sites as needed, with variable days and weekends and a schedule of 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Public service and/or customer service experience in hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects assigned work areas per procedures; removes linens and waste.
• Performs interim and restorative maintenance of hard floors, carpets and upholstery as required.
• Assembles, maintains and stores equipment and supplies necessary to complete tasks.
• Communicates with team to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Assists visitors and employees in navigating the hospital to reach destinations.
• May work across department sites for coverage and business needs.

Schedule: Full Time or Part Time, Variable days and Everyother weekend

2nd shift: 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 2 am.

Job Summary

Cleans and disinfects assigned work area according to department procedures. Removes medical waste, trash and linens. Performs the interim and restorative maintenance of the health system's hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures. Fully functioning in one area of responsibility.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures. Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
• Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services. Reports general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area.
• Assists visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
• Fully functioning within one cleaning area.
• May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.

Qualifications
