Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking an Environmental Services Technician at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. The EVS Tech cleans and disinfects patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent infections and maintain a safe hospital environment.

The role involves waste disposal, restocking supplies, floor and surface care, and responding quickly to urgent cleaning needs, with evenings shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Qualifications

• One year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent the spread of infections.
• Properly disposing of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols.
• Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas.
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals and respond to urgent cleaning needs.

We are seeking anEnvironmental Services Technician, also referred to asaEVSTech orHospital Housekeeper.The EVS Techensures a safe and healthy environment by cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, operating rooms, andcommon areasto prevent infection.The EVS Tech willhandle waste disposal, restock supplies,maintainfloors and surfaces, and respond to urgent cleaning needs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, andcommon areasto prevent the spread of infections
• Properly disposing of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols

• Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas

• Clean andmaintainfloors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals

• Respond to urgent cleaning needs such as spills or contamination incidents and communicate promptly using phone, handheld radios, pagers, and other devicesMaintaina high levelof cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling between facilities independently

Qualifications

• One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.
