Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an Environmental Services team member to maintain clean, safe patient areas across facilities. You will operate UV disinfection equipment, including the Xenex Robot, and manage supplies while upholding HIPAA privacy and infection control standards.

The role requires high visibility with patients and a strong customer-service mindset, collaborating with maintenance and other departments to ensure exceptional care environments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Custodial experience preferred.
• Must interact directly with patient population; job requires high visibility and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Transform patient rooms into welcoming, safe spaces by preparing rooms for new admissions and restocking essential linen and paper supplies.
• Operate Xenex UV disinfection equipment to eliminate pathogens and protect patient safety.
• Identify and report mechanical issues or environmental concerns to facilities for optimal conditions.
• Maintain supply levels by monitoring inventory and communicating replenishment needs to supervisors.
• Champion infection control and environmental standards by following policies and quality programs.
• Protect patient privacy by complying with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to achieve shared objectives and maintain team relationships.
• Participate in educational programs and professional development opportunities.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support departmental success.
