Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an Environmental Services team member to keep patient areas clean and safe. The role includes preparing rooms for admissions, restocking supplies, and operating advanced UV disinfection equipment to protect patients and staff.

You will report issues to maintenance, manage inventory, and uphold infection control standards while collaborating across departments and pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Custodial experience preferred.
• Must interact directly with patient population.
• Must demonstrate high level of customer service with Patients First mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient rooms for admission and restock linen and supplies.
• Operate UV disinfection equipment (Xenex Robot) to reduce pathogens.
• Identify and report mechanical or environmental issues to maintenance.
• Monitor inventory and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors.
• Follow infection control standards and HIPAA privacy rules.
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve shared goals.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
