Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an Environmental Services team member to maintain a safe, sanitary environment across system locations. Under supervision, you will ensure rooms are clean, manage equipment, and use supplies efficiently while contributing to high standards of care.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms for admissions, using UV disinfection equipment, reporting issues, tracking supplies, and upholding infection control protocols.

Job Description

Join our Environmental Services team and play a vital role in maintaining the health and safety of our patients and staff across Henry Ford Health System locations. Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Management Team, you'll ensure assigned work areas are impeccably clean and well-maintained, manage equipment responsibly, and use supplies efficiently. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence directly contribute to creating a safe, sanitary environment where healing can happen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare patient rooms for new admissions with precision, ensuring all linen and paper supplies are properly stocked and ready for arrival.
  • Operate advanced ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment, such as the Xenex Robot, to deliver cutting-edge infection control.
  • Identify and report mechanical issues or environmental concerns promptly, working collaboratively with the maintenance department to keep facilities in top condition.
  • Monitor supply levels proactively and communicate replenishment needs to your supervisor, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Uphold all departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance standards, and infection control protocols to maintain the highest standards of care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • Custodial experience preferred.
  • Must be able to interact directly with patient population, job requires high visibility.
  • Must exhibit consistently high level of customer service and 'Patients First' sensibility.
