Responsibilities

• Assist with event/meeting setup and furniture moves per work orders.
• Clean up observed spills as needed.
• Monitor and report on condition of equipment; request repairs as needed.
• Perform daily elevator floor/track cleaning.
• Report problems/concerns to management; perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Reports to: Supervisor, Environmental Services | Supervisory Responsibility: None

Education/Experience: HS diploma/GED preferred; up to 3 months related experience or equivalent combination of education/training/experience. No license/certification required.

Core function: Delivers routine, standards-compliant cleaning of patient rooms and common areas per established schedules and prescribed methods, supporting CRHS's clinical mission and infection prevention goals.

• Routine cleaning of assigned areas to established standards — fixtures, walls, floors, vents, lights
• Trash removal on prescribed cycle; regulated medical/bio-hazardous waste removal per safety and infection control procedures
• Responds to STAT cleaning requests from nursing/medical staff
• Assists with event/meeting setup and furniture moves per work orders
• Cleans up observed/requested spills
• Maintains and reports on condition of assigned equipment; reports needed repairs to equipment, furniture, fixtures
• Daily elevator floor/track cleaning
• Reports problems/concerns to management; performs other duties as assigned

Standards of performance: Verified through regular inspections — room cleaning, high/low dusting, restroom cleaning, response to pages. Must accurately read SDS labels. Reliability/punctuality tracked via timesheets. Mandatory safety in-service attendance. Confidentiality and CRHS Standards of Behavior compliance.

OSHA category: Task involves exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues — annual PPD screening required.

Physical demands: Constant walking, hearing/seeing, smell/temperature distinction, hand/finger dexterity, exposure to hazardous materials; frequent bending, stretching/reaching, stooping, exposure to bloodborne pathogens; occasional lifting up to and over 50 lbs.
