Job summary

Corewell Health in St Joseph, MI, is hiring an Environmental Service Technician to help deliver high-quality care by cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking patient rooms and related areas. You will work evenings, 40 hours per week, with full training provided.

No prior experience required; you’ll grow new skills while collaborating with the Environmental Services team. This role focuses on maintaining floors, carpets, upholstery, and ensuring a safe, welcoming hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to procedures.
• Remove linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance to floors, carpets and upholstery.
• Assemble, maintain and store equipment and supplies as needed.
• Communicate and collaborate with team to ensure continuity of service.
• Report maintenance and cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital.
• Fully function in two or more areas of responsibility.
• May work across department sites for coverage.

Job Summary

You can make a difference in patients' lives as an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health. Your contributions in this role have a direct impact on high-quality care; you'll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining the appearance and condition of our floors, carpets, and upholstery. No experience is required - you will be fully trained and supported and can grow and learn new skills to develop your career.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
• Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Reports general maintenance and communicates special cleaning requirements in work area.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
• Fully functioning in two or more areas of responsibility.
• May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent No Experience public service and or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience
