Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking an Environmental Service Technician to clean and disinfect patient areas, remove linens and waste, and maintain floors, carpets, and upholstery to high standards. No prior experience is required; you will be fully trained and supported to grow and learn.

This role helps ensure a sanitary, safe environment across Lakeland Hospital Niles and related sites, with an evening shift and 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• No Experience public service and or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience Required

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect and stock patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas per procedures.
• Remove linens and waste streams.
• Maintain and restore floors, carpets and upholstery per procedures.
• Assemble, maintain and store equipment and supplies needed for tasks.
• Communicate with team to ensure continuity of services.
• Report maintenance needs and communicate special cleaning requirements.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital.
• Work across department sites as needed.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
• Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Reports general maintenance and communicates special cleaning requirements in work area.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
• Fully functioning in two or more areas of responsibility.
• May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.
