Qualifications

• Requires at least an associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in environmental services preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong math skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide; compute rates, ratios and percentages.
• Knowledge of regulatory agencies, codes, standards and infection control techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise and direct housekeeping operations to ensure a clean, safe resident environment.
• Manage staffing: hiring, training, assignments, promotions, terminations as needed.
• Develop systems to maximize effectiveness of housekeeping functions.
• Conduct regular environmental services inspections to maintain safety and sanitary standards.
• Oversee purchases of cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment to meet needs.
• Maintain records and reports per Environmental Services policies.
• Adhere to applicable environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Participate in disaster planning, fire drills and staff training.
• Refer policy-change decisions to Administrator for approval.
• Follow a master cleaning plan for the facility.
• Evaluate staff performance and counsel as per policy.
