Position Summary
Our exciting Manager-In-Training (MIT) program gives you the opportunity to learn and grow at an established company with over 45 years of experience. As our newest associate, you’ll experience a custom interactive program that will guide you through hands-on and computer-based training, lasting approximately sixteen (16) weeks. The program focuses on different aspects of managing your own account, including:
- General Training & Comprehension - Learn and perform the job assignments of the housekeeper, heavy housekeeper/floor tech, and laundry worker positions, and operate, as well as teach others to operate, a variety of industrial cleaning equipment.
- Leadership Development - Assists in training, quality control, and in-servicing of staff according to policies and procedures and federal/state requirements.
- Policies & Procedures - Learn to provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met, including following current applicable federal, state, and local standards, in line with our established policies and procedures to ensure quality housekeeping services at all times.
- Reporting - Train in maintaining records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment in report format for delivery to HCSG and Facility management.
- Training - Responsible for all training, quality control, and in-servicing staff to meet HCSG standards, including touring various areas at the facility several times per day to assess work quality using QCIs for documentation.
- Leadership - Learn to handle managerial responsibilities such as payroll submission, staffing, coaching, discipline, purchasing, inventory maintenance, and budgeting.
- Communication - Effectively communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff.
- Safety - Use protective gear appropriately. Responsible for the safe and proper handling of cleaning solutions, adhering to all safety precautions. Report equipment or product needs or malfunctions promptly. Ensure standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met. Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to maintain a sanitary environment. Follow proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing procedures.
- Punctuality - Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality. Complete cleaning tasks according to schedule. Respond promptly to the paging system.
- Customer Experience - Positively represent HCSG by following instructions, being courteous, and cooperative with staff and client personnel.
- Experience - Maintain positive, tactful interactions with staff and facility guests.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, follow instructions, and perform routine tasks daily.
- Utilize leadership skills after training to accomplish responsibilities independently and safely.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting, including web-based tools.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by law or client policies.
- Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
- Work around food and cleaning products.
- Residence within the service area.
