Position Summary

Our Manager-In-Training (MIT) program offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow within an established company with over 45 years of experience. The program lasts approximately sixteen (16) weeks and includes hands-on and computer-based training covering:

  • General Training & Comprehension: Learn and perform duties related to housekeeping, heavy housekeeping/floor tech, and laundry positions, including operating various industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Leadership Development: Assist in training, quality control, and staff in-servicing according to policies and procedures and federal/state requirements.
  • Policies & Procedures: Provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure quality standards, inventory, safety, and customer service expectations are met, following all applicable standards and policies.
  • Reporting: Maintain records of income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment, and deliver reports to management.
  • Training: Be responsible for staff training, quality control, and in-servicing to meet HCSG standards, including regular site assessments.
  • Leadership: Handle managerial responsibilities such as payroll, staffing, coaching, purchasing, inventory, and budgeting.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate directives from managers, occupants, and administrators to staff.
  • Safety: Use protective gear, handle cleaning solutions safely, report equipment needs or malfunctions, and adhere to infection control and safety policies.
  • Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of tasks.
  • Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively through courteous and cooperative interactions.
  • Experience: Maintain positive, tactful interactions with staff and guests.

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude, ability to follow instructions, and perform routine tasks.
  • Leadership skills post-training to work independently without injury.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks and work around food and cleaning products.
  • Reside in the service area.
