Job summary

Garden Healthcare seeks an Assistant Environmental Services Manager to lead maintenance, housekeeping, laundry and security in a NY nursing facility. You will report to the Environmental Services Manager and oversee day-to-day operations to ensure safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 2–4 years of management experience, an associated degree, and knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of management experience.
• Building maintenance knowledge and compliance knowledge.
• Familiarity with fire safety and OSHA standards.
• HVAC, plumbing and electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Life Safety for residents, staff and visitors.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility systems.
• Ensure state inspections comply with codes.
• Collaborate with Administrator on improvements and supervise projects.
• Maintain a welcoming, home-like appearance for all.
• Direct housekeeping to create a safe, sanitary environment.
• Coordinate work with other department heads to improve operations.
• Maintain building systems and safety equipment; electrical, plumbing, HVAC.
• Oversee fire alarm and emergency generator systems.
• Provide supervision and orientation for staff in Environmental Services.
• Maintain records, budgets, and be on-call for emergencies.
• Coordinate drills and contracted services for upkeep.
• Ensure life safety, security, resident call and other building systems function.
