Job summary

Garden Healthcare is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead the Environmental Services and Maintenance teams. The role reports to the Nursing Home Administrator and oversees day-to-day operations in a licensed skilled nursing facility in New York.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of management experience, strong knowledge of City, State and Federal regulations, and hands-on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety expertise to ensure a safe, home-like environment for residents and

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree desired.
2–4 years management experience.
Building maintenance experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of City, State and Federal regulations pertaining to licensed skilled nursing facilities.
Fire safety, OSHA standards.
HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure life safety of all residents, visitors, and employees within the facility.
Troubleshoot and repair different systems within the facility.
Ensure State Required Inspections are in compliance with State and Federal codes.
Work with Administrator on improvements of facility, and supervise the work of planned construction projects.
Ensure the facility presents a welcoming, home-like appearance for all residents, staff and visitors.
Work with other Department Heads to improve inner workings of facility.
Maintain building free of hazards and perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
Maintain fire alarm and emergency generator systems to minimize risk.
