Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Minneapolis VA Health Care System, seeks a Housekeeping Aid Leader in Environmental Services to supervise a team and perform environment of care tasks across ORs, clinics, and patient areas.

You will train staff, coordinate with nurses, maintain safety, and ensure proper cleaning of floors, rooms, and equipment, working 4:00pm–12:30am, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Evidence of training or experience showing ability to perform EMS housekeeping duties.
• Pre-employment physicals may be required; lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Volunteer or paid experience counted toward qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead three or more employees in performing the full range of housekeeping tasks.
• Communicate Supervisor's instructions and validate completion of work.
• Coordinate projects with nurses and area supervisors for timely completion.
• Train employees in procedures and safety to meet workload goals.
• Report progress and safety compliance to the Supervisor.
• Clean areas including ORs, clinics, sterile rooms, and patient areas.
• Operate dust/mop, waste disposal, clean fixtures, restock supplies.
• Make beds and turn mattresses; manage textile distribution.
• Move furniture and set up rooms for meetings or events.
