Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Housekeeping Aid within the Environmental Management Services division at a VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.

This role requires performing janitorial and custodial services to maintain clean and safe patient areas, under supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor. Responsibilities include cleaning wards, patient rooms, offices, and restrooms, as well as operating cleaning equipment when needed; weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties and routine housekeeping.
• Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms and other areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub floors, vacuum carpets and upholstery; clean light fixtures and blinds; wash walls, windows, and ceilings as needed.
