Job summary

Lowell General Hospital, part of Tufts Medicine, is seeking an Environmental Services worker to support housekeeping, facilities, and related services. You will supervise in the absence of the supervisor, coordinate daily tasks, and ensure a clean, safe environment across shifts.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong English communication skills. Bilingual abilities are a plus; the role includes evening hours and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of related experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Bilingual (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Completes weekly projects as designated by the supervisor and coordinates shift work.
• Ensures staff are equipped and supplied with needed items.
• Follows infection control, chemical control, and hazardous waste procedures.
• Maintains safety practices and proper body mechanics.
• Performs shift check-in and rounds through the facility.
• Operates heavy duty cleaning equipment and maintains floor care.
• Supports inventory and record-keeping for laundry services.
• Assists with set-up for events and furniture moves.
• Participates in safety meetings and department safety inspections.
