Job summary

Spring Creek Rehab and Nursing Center in Harrisburg, PA is seeking an Environmental Services Director (Full Time, Exempt) to plan, organize, and direct the housekeeping department in strict alignment with applicable standards.

You will oversee administrative functions, staff development, safety, sanitation, and resident rights while collaborating with the Administrator and other departments to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in healthcare environmental services.
• Must pass post-offer background check and medical/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall housekeeping operation.
• Adhere to federal, state and local standards and guidelines.
• Communicate with residents, staff and other department directors to coordinate services.
• Maintain safety, sanitation and a clean, comfortable environment.
• Oversee administrative, committee and personnel functions.
• Staff development and ongoing training support.
• Ensure quality and resident rights are upheld.
• Work in both office areas and housekeeping service areas.

Requirements of the Environmental Services Director:

• A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma.


• 3 years experience and previous healthcare environmental services experience


• Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

Responsibilities of the Environmental Services Director:

The primary purpose of your position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards guidelines, and regulations governing our Facility and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that our Facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.

• Works in office areas as well as throughout the housekeeping service areas (i.e., resident rooms, therapy rooms, dietary, etc.).


• Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies or personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.


• Communicates with housekeeping personnel and other department directors.


• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.


• Maintains a liaison with other department supervisors to adequately plan for housekeeping services or activities.
