The Environmental Services Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Housekeeping/Environmental Services Department. This position ensures the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable manner while meeting all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and facility standards. The Director will oversee department staff, daily operations, supplies, and housekeeping procedures while working closely with facility leadership to maintain a high standard of care and cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping/Environmental Services Department and ensure all areas of the facility are properly cleaned and maintained.
Supervise, train, schedule, and provide direction to housekeeping and environmental services staff.
Develop and maintain cleaning schedules, procedures, and standards to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Monitor inventory and ensure proper use, storage, and availability of cleaning supplies, equipment, and chemicals.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, infection control standards, safety requirements, and facility policies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Long-Term Care as an Environmental Services Director or in a similar supervisory role.
Previous experience supervising housekeeping or environmental services staff in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
Training in environmental control practices and procedures preferred but not required.
