Alomere Health in Alexandria, MN seeks an Environmental Service worker in the Environmental Services department. The role performs general cleaning to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other areas. It also distributes linens and supports infection control standards.

Hours are full time, with a 6:30am–3:00pm schedule, every other weekend and holidays as scheduled. The position uses cleaning chemicals and PPE and contributes to a safe, sanitary health care environment.

Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 6:30am - 3:00pm /Occasional 5:00am - 1:30pm
• Every other weekend and Holidays as scheduled

Position Objective:

The Environmental Service worker maintains environmental information and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of the health care center. The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the facility. The position distributes and tracks clean linens to user departments and maintains stock levels on nursing floors. The Housekeeper follows standard practices and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

The following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.

Technical Capacity:

• Use various cleaning chemicals and disinfectants to disinfect all areas and equipment
• Mop and vacuum floors and make beds

Equipment:

• Obtain department directors approval when ordering non-routine supplies from Materials Management Department
• Relay equipment needs to the department director

Working Conditions/Environment:

• Occasional contact with infectious diseases
• May be exposed to latex supplies/products
• Unpleasant situations and odors are kept at minimum but can occur
• Use of personal protective equipment when there is a risk of exposure to chemicals and/or infectious materials

Laundry/Linen:

• Distribute clean linens to user departments

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
• Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
• Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health's mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
• Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department
• Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability
• Coordinate housekeeping activities on the weekend in the absence of the Director of Environmental Services, which may require the rescheduling of housekeeping staff and answering of all requests of the various departments
