Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a part-time Environmental Services Associate to clean and disinfect patient areas, stock supplies, and support infection control standards. You will use bed management systems and handheld devices to track tasks, follow safety procedures, and document all work performed.

This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability and patient-centered service. Applicants should have basic computer skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to read and follow

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and cleaning equipment.

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard.
• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software.
• Ability to interact with patients.
• Read and understand Safety Data Sheets and basic reports.
• Follow oral and written assignments and environmental duties.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including trash removal and sanitizing surfaces.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions, and supplies as needed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of infection control and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Uses Bed Management system to maintain bed flow with handheld device.
• Cleans and disinfects areas with bodily fluids per facility standards.
• Documents all work performed.

Job Description:

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking.
• Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies.
• Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards.
• Documents all work performed.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.
• Other duties assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition [Required]
• Able to communicate in English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard [Required]
• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software [Required]

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• Housekeeping or custodial experience [Preferred]
