Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, CO is seeking a Night Shift Environmental Services Worker. You will clean patient and public areas, stock supplies, and ensure infection control practices are followed in a hospital environment.

Requirements include strong organizational and communication skills; High School diploma or equivalent; CNA preferred and experience in a medical setting is a plus. This is a full-time position with benefits from Day One.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and manage supplies.
• Reading, understanding, and following written and verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with basic medical terminology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas daily and dispose of waste according to standards.
• Stock supplies and assist with bed throughput using hand-held devices.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient and public areas and report issues.
• Follow safety and infection control policies at all times.

Job Description

Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces. Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Documents all work performed. Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas. Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste. Other duties as assigned. Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed throughput, using hand-held technology for tracking.

• Must be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform simple arithmetic [Required]
• Full knowledge of basic environmental duties [Required]
• Understanding of medical terminology, ICD-9/10, and CPT-4 coding [Required]
