Job summary

New Orleans Jewish Community Center seeks an Environmental Services staff member. The role focuses on cleaning general areas, mopping and dusting, disinfecting high-traffic zones, and maintaining gym facilities and towels for the fitness area.

Candidates should be detail oriented, able to work independently or with a team, and communicate with the Facilities Manager. Prior janitorial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be detail oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Time management skills and reliable attendance.
• Basic understanding of chemicals used in housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Clean general areas around the building.
• Mop and sweep floors to keep spaces safe.
• Dust windows and wipe windows and mirrors.
• Disinfect walls and high-traffic areas as needed.
• Clean gym facility and equipment.
• Clean, dry, fold and store towels for the fitness area and desk.
• Keep locker rooms and related areas spotless and orderly.
• Report broken equipment or lighting to Facilities Manager.
