Located 25 miles south of Rockford and 75 miles west of Chicago, Rochelle Community Hospital serves as a cornerstone of the Rochelle community. As a critical-access hospital, we provide emergency care, diagnostic testing, home healthcare resources, rehabilitation, occupational health, inpatient care, surgery, and various outpatient services. We strive to deliver high-quality care for our patients, physicians, and staff.
An Environmental Services Associate will be responsible and accountable for cleaning and disinfecting every area of the hospital, excluding OR 1 and OR 2. Must follow and implement all Quality Assurance Programs and Rochelle Community Hospital policies and procedures. Must participate in Performance Improvement Projects and comply with The Joint Commission standards, IDPH, and OSHA regulations. Must pass all required tests, including quality assurance, infection control, patient confidentiality, competency, and safety. Must be in good health and physical condition and able to perform all duties as defined. Must take direction from supervisory personnel.
Preferred Level: High School Diploma or GED. Any equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must have general knowledge of computer use for e-mail and testing.
Must have good communication skills.
Prior EVS experience preferred but not required.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, stoop, squat, bend, lift, and reach.
Requires ability to withstand repetitive motions for long periods.
Medium lifting: generally not more than 50 lbs maximum with assistance, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Frequent exposure to blood, bodily fluids, feces, bacteria, viruses, and other communicable diseases, with personal protective equipment provided.
