AdventHealth Ocala is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Associate to clean patient areas, sanitize surfaces, and support hospital operations during the night shift.

Responsibilities include stocking supplies, operating cleaning equipment, disposing of waste, and documenting work performed. Prior healthcare housekeeping experience is preferred, with a focus on safety and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Infection control knowledge and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Able to operate computer using basic office software.
• Excellent customer service and English communication.
• Basic math and ability to read safety labels and SDS.
• Healthcare environmental services experience preferred.

Job Description

Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces. Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Other duties as assigned. Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking. Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste. Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Documents all work performed. Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition [Required]

• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software [Required]

• Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform basic arithmetic [Required]
• Must be able to follow oral and written assignments and have full knowledge of basic environmental duties [Required]
• Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment [Preferred]
• Knowledge of additional languages [Preferred]

Pay Range: $15.84 - $25.34
