Job summary

AdventHealth is hiring for a dedicated Environmental Services role in Orlando, FL. The position focuses on cleaning patient and public areas, maintaining infection control, and ensuring safe, sanitary facilities across multiple AdventHealth locations.

The role requires English communication, basic computer skills, and reliable teamwork in a healthcare setting. Evening shifts and flexible assignments may be available; full-time status with day shift options is noted.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in the cleaning/healthcare environment.
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard.
• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to interact with patients.
• Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Must be able to follow oral and written assignments and have full knowledge of basic environmental duties.
• Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of additional languages

Responsibilities

• Clean patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing surfaces.
• Stock paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in assigned areas as necessary.
• Demonstrates knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and operation of cleaning equipment.
• Utilizes bed management system and handheld devices to track bed throughput.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste and cleans/disinfects areas with bodily fluids.
• Documents all work performed and accesses ancillary units, restrooms and offices as needed.

Job Description

Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces. Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Other duties as assigned. Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking. Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste. Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Documents all work performed. Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.
