Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking Environmental Services Area Cleaner / Floor Technicians at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland. Shifts span Day/Evening/Night/Weekend with a 12:00am-12:30pm schedule and include several shift options for Days, Afternoons/Evenings, Evenings/Nights and Late Evenings.

The role supports patient care by maintaining clean, safe environments and offers a pathway to advancement within Environmental Services, including Team Lead, Supervisor and Manager

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas and restrooms.
• Stock paper items and supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures on patient isolation and Environmental Services SOPs.
• Follow and adhere to hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
• Complete 1–3 months of on-the-job training to learn department policies, cleaning techniques and chemical handling.

As an Environmental Services Area Cleaner on our team, you will help create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. This role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services (Team Lead, Supervisor and Manager) and departments within Cleveland Clinic.

We are currently hiring for EVS Area Cleaners and Floor Technicians

Shift Schedules:
We offer flexible scheduling, including:

• Days: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• Afternoons/Evenings: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
• Evenings/Nights: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
• Late Evenings: 4:00 PM–12:30 AM

Weekend Availability:

• Must be able to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas.
• Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms.
• Follow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
• Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
• Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.
• Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
• Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Light Work - Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
