Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Martha's Vineyard Hospital seeks an Environmental Services Aide to provide a clean, sanitary environment that supports high-quality patient care. You will work in the evening on site at One Hospital Road, with a 40-hour weekly schedule and competitive hourly pay.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred 0-1 year.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of waste streams: Biological, Hazardous, General, Sharps and Recycling.
• Familiarity with Fire Management Plan and responding to alarms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas as directed by supervisor.
• Sweep, scrub, refinish, polish and strip floors with appropriate equipment.
• Scrub using swing machines and floor machines as needed.
• Clean carpets: vacuum, shampoo, deodorize, disinfect.
• Make beds, handle linens, and clean rooms and bathrooms.
• Move furnishings as required and keep workspace neat and safe.
• Perform minor maintenance and security rounds.
• Follow infection prevention protocols at all times.
