Martha's Vineyard Hospital, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary environment that enhances patient care. You will clean floors, offices, patient rooms, restrooms and public areas, using standard cleaning equipment while following infection prevention protocols.

The role includes moving items as needed and ensuring safety in work spaces. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent; 0–1 year experience in environmental services preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of waste streams: Biological, Hazardous, General, Sharps and Recycling.
• Infection prevention protocols knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, offices, clinical and non-clinical spaces, halls and restrooms.
• Sweep, scrub, refinish, polish and strip floors using mops, brooms, and power scrubbers.
• Vacuum carpets, shampoo, deodorize, and disinfect areas.
• Make beds and reset rooms; move linens and trash; clean bathrooms and surfaces.
• Assist with moving furnishings and maintaining clean, safe work areas.
• Respond to fire alarms and support safety protocols as required.
