Job summary

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is seeking a housekeeping associate to maintain cleanliness of the facility, including public and staff areas, restrooms, waiting areas, entrances, corridors, and offices. Duties include trash removal, dusting, mopping, and stocking supplies to keep patient and visitor areas pristine.

The role supports operations by cleaning diverse spaces, reporting deficiencies to supervision, and ensuring safe, sanitary conditions for staff and patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of directly relevant job-related experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
• 0 to 6 months experience required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans common areas of MedStar Washington Hospital Center to include restrooms (staff and public), waiting rooms, entrances, corridors, elevators and landings, stairwells, staff locker rooms, offices and conference rooms; tasks include trash removal, dusting, wiping surfaces, replenishing supplies, mopping, spot cleaning walls and vacuuming.
• Performs cleaning tasks such as mats, windows, curtains, blinds, and moving equipment or supplies as needed.
• Stocks cleaning cart and supply closets; may mix cleaning solutions.

About the Job

General Summary of Position

Responsible for the appearance/cleanliness of the Washington Hospital Center. Cleans public staff and out-patient areas.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleans common areas of MedStar Washington Hospital center to include restrooms (staff and public) waiting rooms hospital entrances corridors elevators and landings stairwells staff locker rooms offices conference rooms etc.; This activity includes but is not limited to pulling trash high and low dusting wiping exposed surfaces replenishing appropriate supplies dry and wet mopping spot cleaning walls and vacuuming.
• Performs; cleaning and changing mats washing windows; washing and re-hanging cubical window curtains and vertical blinds; scraping residual paint from fixtures/equipment; and moving equipment furniture supplies/boxes etc.
• Stocks cleaning cart and/or supply closet(s). May mix cleaning solutions from concentrated issue.
• Reports deficiencies in patient rooms and throughout WHC to shift supervisor and/or facilitates management for action.

Minimal Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• A minimum of 3 years of directly relevant job-related experience may be substituted for the educational requirement

Experience

• 0 to 6 months experience required

This position has a hiring range of

USD $19.10 - USD $26.17 /Hr.
