General Summary of Position

Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for an Environmental Services Aide I to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

As an Environmental Services Aide I, you will be responsible for the appearance/cleanliness of the Washington Hospital Center. Clean public, staff, and out‑patient areas.

Primary Duties

• Cleans common areas of MedStar Washington Hospital Center to include restrooms (staff and public), waiting rooms, hospital entrances, corridors, elevators and landings, stairwells, staff locker rooms, offices, conference rooms, etc. This activity includes, but is not limited to pulling trash, high and low dusting, wiping exposed surfaces, replenishing appropriate supplies, dry and wet mopping, spot cleaning walls, and vacuuming.
• Performs cleaning and changing mats, washing windows, washing and re‑hanging cubical, window curtains, and vertical blinds, scraping residual paint from fixtures/equipment, and moving equipment, furniture, supplies/boxes, etc.
• Stocks cleaning cart and/or supply closet(s). May mix cleaning solutions from concentrated issue.
• Reports deficiencies in patient rooms and throughout MedStar Washington to shift supervisor and/or facilitates management for action.

Compensation
