Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a housekeeping specialist to clean and sanitize areas, dispose of hazardous waste properly, and decontaminate equipment. This role supports infection control and maintains a safe, orderly environment across Medical Center departments.

The position includes evenings shifts, 14 hours per week, onsite at 151 Everett Avenue, with pay range $17.71–$22.15 per hour. Regular employment and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in lieu of degree not accepted.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe application.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties according to organizational standards and infection control guidelines.
• Removes waste streams.
• Cleans and services assigned areas according to procedures.
• Moves furniture and supplies to maintain a neat, sanitary environment.
• Operates floor machines and buffers.
• Attends at least eight unit/department meetings annually.
• Maintains clean, safe areas at all times.

Essential Functions

• Performs cleaning duties in alignment with organizational standards, established schedules, and infection control guidelines.


• Completes waste stream removal.


• Cleans and services assigned areas according to established procedures.


• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout Medical Center departments and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain a neat, orderly, and sanitary environment.


• Operates assigned equipment, including floor machines and buffers.


• Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.


• Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
