Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a hospital cleaner at Newton-Wellesley Hospital to perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks, dispose of waste, and maintain sterile equipment as part of a broader infection control program.

You will work onsite, following established schedules, operating floor machines and buffers, and supporting a safe, sanitary environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 0-1 year preferred; No experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Performs cleaning duties in alignment with pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines.
  • Carries out waste stream removal.
  • Cleans and services assigned areas as per procedures.
  • Moves furniture, equipment and supplies to maintain a neat, sanitary environment.
  • Operates floor machines and buffers.
  • Participates in at least eight unit/department meetings annually.
  • Maintains patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe condition.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of any diseases by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses.

Essential Functions
  • -Performs cleaning duties in alignment with the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines.
  • -Completes waste stream removal.
  • -According to established procedures clean and service assigned areas.
  • -Move furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around the Medical Center departments, and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.
  • -Operates assigned equipment, (floor machines, buffers).
  • -Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.
  • -Maintain assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition at all times.
