Job summary

The General Hospital Corporation is seeking a part-time Environmental Services technician for evening shifts at Mass General Brigham, 66 Blossom Street, Boston. The role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing patient care areas and common spaces, following hospital and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors and clean carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean walls, ceilings, windows, and restrooms; restock supplies as needed.
• Empty and sanitize waste receptacles.
• Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for events and activities.
• Identify and report building maintenance needs.

Job Summary

Monday-Friday 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of a hospital or other healthcare facility.

Essential Functions

• Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass.
• Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures as assigned, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies as needed.
• Picks up debris around the building.
• Operates and controls high- and low-speed stripping/buffing machines.
• Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment in a variety of settings for special events and normal hospital activities.
• Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience: experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently but also be a team player.
• Good communication and comprehension skills.
